Certificate II Drilling Operations

This qualification is for new employees classed as Offsiders and provides students with the practical skills and knowledge to move, set up and operate drilling rigs and related equipment safely to drill holes needed in the mineral exploration sector. You will learn about the drilling industry, mining equipment, health and safety procedures and team work.

Certificate III Drilling Operations

This qualification reflects the role of employees such as drillers who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

Certificate IV Drilling Operations
RII40909

The Certificate IV in Drilling – Mineral Exploration reflects the role of employees such as Senior Drillers or Supervisors. The role encompasses tasks involving a broad range of varied activities most of which are complex and non-routine. They are responsible for the quantity and quality of the output of others and contribute to the development of technical solutions to non-routine problems.

Workplace Assessor Training Course
TAA40104

This is a drilling specific course aimed at Drillers and Supervisors who wish to become Workplace Assessors. During the five days, students will learn and experience all the facets required to be able to assess their drilling personnel on site. This course is Nationally Accredited.

BHP Billiton Specific Site Supervisor Course
This course has been specifically designed in accordance to BHP Billiton’s requirements for Supervisors. It is a Nationally Accredited course which will give Drilling Supervisors the skills and knowledge required to achieve competency. During the five days, the course will cover a collection of hands-on management strategies, as well as expose Drilling Supervisors to relevant expertise, advice and solutions for day to day rig management

Drilling for Non Drillers
A one day course aimed at imparting knowledge of the drilling industry to Green Starts, Geologists, Field Assistants, Office and Support Staff.
This course provides a basic overview of the drilling industry, work practices, processes, equipment and industry terminology.
