Driven to go the Extra Mile: DDH1's Jaxon Fauser Named Young Driller of the Year

7 February, 2026

At just two years into his drilling career, DDH1 Drilling’s Jaxon Fauser has been named the 2025 Australian Drilling Industry Association (ADIA) Young Driller of the Year. That’s not common. And it’s not accidental. Jaxon’s recognition reflects more than technical aptitude. It reflects professionalism, discipline and leadership well beyond his experience level. What stands out?

  • Strong communication with clients and crews
  • Deep directional drilling capability early in his career
  • Consistent delivery of safe metres
  • Rig presentation and preventative maintenance
  • A genuine investment in mentoring offsiders

As Jaxon puts it: “Learning the ground trends and building a great client–contractor relationship made me want to go the further mile.”

That mindset matters. Because modern drilling leadership shows up early. It’s not about waiting for a title. It’s about demonstrating responsibility through behaviour — running tight sites, explaining the “why”, staying ahead of the job and building trust with clients. As his supervisor Trent Woods summarised: “He is flexible, dependable, and consistently makes a positive impact.” The Young Driller of the Year award recognises emerging drillers who demonstrate skill, safety, teamwork and initiative.

Jaxon represents where the profession is heading — methodical, safety-led, technically capable and commercially aware. The future of drilling isn’t being built loudly. It’s being built by people like this.
